janetJanet Barrett was born in Amherst Texas in 1962.  Was raised in Oregon, where her father was an evangelical minister for the Southern Gospel Association.  After years of ministry her father Clarence Edward Findley broke off from the Association to become a part of an independent movement.  She has found that each denomination has its ups and downs, but a common thread of hope runs through them all.  Therefore, Janet has chosen not to be named as part of any denomination, but feels obligated to seek out and know the truth through the study of the word.  She believes in the spoken Word of God, and believes that God is speaking to anyone who will listen.   She has been actively moving in the prophetic ministry since the age of 12.  Her favorite passage in the Bible is found in Psalm 139.

rachel-brown-2Rachel Brown began her amazing journey with the Lord at a young age and felt a call into ministry at age 12.  She has been married nine years to Pat Brown, who currently serves as an Associate Pastor at Milestone Church in Keller, Texas. Pat and Rachel have three beautiful children; Emma - 6, Ethan - 5, and Ean - 4.  Rachel’s passion is family and loves nurturing her children in the things of the Lord and passing on a godly heritage. Rachel was raised in West Texas and is the daughter of Michael and June Carter who attend Turning Point Community Church in Lubbock.

june-4June Carter is the Office and Finance Manager for Turning Point. She also oversees the benevolence ministry and has a heart for foreign missions and prayer. June’s passion for ministry comes from a calling to be a cupbearer; she just completed her 20th year of ministry service in June 2009. June has been married to Michael for 32 years and they have three grown daughters and five grandchildren. Her passions include spending time with family, reading, and decorating.

eric-chaffin1Eric Chaffin is the Founder of 3:14 Ministries, a outreach ministry to athletes and sport fans.  In addition to being a pastor and motivational speaker, Eric has served as an arena football team chaplain, and is an author. His latest book, Everything I Know About God I Learned From Football, is in stores now. Eric believes that God deserves our most excellent and worthy offering in everything we endeavor in life, and is inspired by 1 Corinthians 9:24: “Don’t you know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way as to receive the prize.” Eric and his family live in Lubbock, Texas (but they are all unapologetic Oklahoma Sooner fanatics). It is also noteworthy that Eric runs the 40 yard dash in a mind-numbing 4.4… minutes!

pam-sumrallWhile some of the roles she plays are wife, mother, computer service coordinator, nursery worker and part-time writer, Pam Sumrall sees herself simply as God’s 48 year old little girl, still very much in the process of growing up.  Married to Paul for 21 years, they are the very proud parents of 3 mostly grown children.  Though she’s been involved in several ministries over the years, Pam feels closest to Christ when she’s comforting a crying toddler, which she does on Sundays in Starting Point’s Bug room.  Advocacy is a recurring theme in Pam’s life.  She has been a service advocate for a computer company for 16 years and serves as a CASA volunteer, advocating for foster children in the court system.   Pam sees prayer as the ultimate advocacy – Christians going to bat for others, before the throne of God.

todd-thompsonTodd Thompson is Annie and Emma’s Dad. When he’s not working magic in someone’s kitchen doing fabulous dinner shows for Saladmaster Cookware, he loves to write, listen to music, and do volunteer work with his kids. Every September he subjects himself to another season of futility as a long-suffering fan of the Minnesota Vikings.  Todd earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Northwestern College and a Master of Divinity degree with an emphasis in Leadership Development from Phoenix Seminary. He’s grateful for the privilege of having served as a part-time teaching pastor at Hope Covenant Church in Chandler, Arizona. Todd’s greatest adventure was going from no kids to 2 kids in 23 days. His greatest challenge is learning to be a better Dad. His greatest blessing is the daily grace of God in his life.  Check out Todd’s column, A Slice of Life to Go, by clicking here.

lyle-and-darlene1Lyle Way is a freelance writer with nearly 40 years of ministry service in a variety of places.  He has written two Christian novels – Betrayal at Heaven’s Gate and Edge of Disaster – as well as a variety of poems and other works.  He and his wife Darlene are active members of Turning Point Community Church, where Lyle serves as an elder.  He has also served on the staff at Stonecroft Ministries in Kansas City, MO, and as the executive director of the Carillon Senior Lifecare Community in Lubbock.  In 2002, at the age of 60, Lyle received his Bachelor of Theology degree from Trinity College of the Bible.
